Maximize EDI Troubleshooting Process
If you haven’t used it yet, you really should try using the EDI/HQ™ split screen function of the View EDI Data window.
Using this feature can help you maximize your time when investigating errors in the View EDI Data screen. Let’s say you receive an inbound purchase order that has EDI errors. You don’t have to click back and forth between the Errors tab and the EDI Data tab in order to compare the error messages with the EDI.
Simply drag and release to create as many tab groups as desired. Whether side by side, stacked one above another, or a combination of the two, you can configure the tab groups to suit your needs.
The screen can be split multiple times and can then be merged back to the single-tab view just as easily.
In the View EDI Data window you have the ability to split the tabs into multiple groups in order to see the contents of any of the tabs as needed.
In addition to splitting in order to show the EDI Data tab and the Errors tab simultaneously, you can also view the App Data tab, and the EDI data it was mapped to, or any of the other tabs available in the View EDI Data window.
Another aspect of this feature is that by highlighting the error message on the Errors tab, the segment in question will also automatically be highlighted on the EDI tab .
This convenient feature is but one in a myriad of helpful details that have been built into EDI/HQ™.
