EDI HQ “How To”?
Data Source Settings – Mapping and the ‘Force Validation Before Mapping Inbound’ Setting

When the “Force Validation Before Mapping Inbound” setting is set to be active, every time inbound EDI is mapped, the transaction will be validated. This may be important for a situation where EDI is often edited. Using it can help ensure that mapping occurs only on valid transactions. Note that whether or not this setting is turned on, if the mapping is performed via the Transaction Filter, the data will ALWAYS be validated.
Having this setting turned on can occasionally cause confusion when multiple “transaction checked for errors” entries are seen for a given transaction.
But using this “better safe than sorry” setting can save grief later if data edited incorrectly is mapped.
