EDI HQ: How To!
How to Build a Job to ONLY Run Specified File Definitions

When building a job, you may not want to run all the file definitions. You may want to run only one or a few to control what is being processed in a given job.

In the below examples we’ll build both an outbound and an inbound job that will specify exactly which file definitions will be used and discuss why we’re not using the built-in file definition processes. We’ll start with showing the available processes and file definitions:
In the next image, we have added two file definitions but want to avoid the “Import And Map All Outbound Application Data Files” as well as “Import And Map Outbound Data (Scoped to this Job)” built-ins. Using these two will cause ALL the file definitions to run, even the two we have previously specified in this job.
Finishing up adding processes to the job, we now have the following that will only run the two specified 810 file definitions.
Similarly, when building the inbound job, if we want to specify the particular file definitions to use, we should avoid the “Import All Inbound EDI Data Files” built-in process:
The following job contains all the needed file definitions and processes to ensure only the file definitions needed will be run.
EDI HQ allows users to specify what will and will not be run in the jobs they build.
