You can customize EDI Complete in a number of ways.
The Options screen can be found in the Tools menu. Let’s only look at some of the available settings in the Advanced tab for now.
Additional settings often recommended to be checked are the “Default Outbound File Name To Blank When Adding Transaction Set Overrides To Trading Partners” and “Write Message to Errors.txt When New Trading Partner Is Automatically Added”. Fast notification of new trading partners will help you keep your setups streamlined.
If you often find yourself or others editing the EDI Data or the Application Data in the View EDI Data window, you can track changes by checking the option “Keep History Of Changes Made To The EDI Data And Application Data In The View EDI Data Window”. Or… you can disable any of this editing by activating “Disable Ability To EDIT EDI and Application Data in the View EDI Data Window” (securing the Options screen is indicated here).
You can also enforce extended character checking for characters such as ß, ®, ñ, £, and ¼ – an occasional requirement with some trading partners, not create backup files of the most recent version of maps, or set the inbound map designer to not show the loop number when selecting segments, among other settings.
