The AS2 standard uses public and private keys (also known as certificates) for the key functions of encrypting and electronically signing messages. For 2 companies to successfully send and receive data they need to ensure that their certificates are always in sync. There is always a rushed and stressed time when a trading partner’s or client’s certificate is going to expire. It requires coordination between both parties.
Secondary Certificate Failover Support allows users to setup a secondary certificate for both themselves and their trading partners. When AS2 Complete detects that a trading partner has started using the secondary certificate, it will automatically switch the system over to use that certificate as its primary for all communications with that trading partner going forward.
