EDI SAP R/3 Integration

SAP R/3 is a very flexible, customizable product that can be implemented to support your organization’s business processes. So, you need an EDI solution that not only compliments your individual SAP R/3 application, but one that can also be tailored to meet your unique needs.

Our EDI/HQ™ solution is fully compatible with SAP R/3, so you can rest assured your system is communicating effectively with your trading partners. Through our Integration Adapter for SAP R/3, your data gets where it needs to go—whether inbound or outbound—with little involvement, meaning fewer errors, lower costs and more efficient processes.

When evaluating EDI solutions, make sure the solution you choose to integrate with your SAP R/3 has these features:

1. A tailored approach. Most likely you've customized your SAP R/3 to meet your unique business needs. The solution must have the ability to customize the mapped EDI data to your specific IDoc structure. A standardized, one-size-fits-all approach is not optimal here.

2. Ensures data integrity. Avoid costly issues related to failed transactions and the loading of bad data by validating the integrity of the final mapped IDocs against the SAP R/3 metadata prior to loading the document.

3. Simplify the resending of transactions. Resending a transaction through SAP R/3 can increase the complexity of your ERP. You want a solution that allows you to resend transactions without going through the SAP R/3, making it easier to manage your EDI documents.

4. Manages data not supported by SAP R/3. Enhance data with IDocs to provide more accurate and complete messages to trading partners. For example, the inclusion of multiple ship dates on the invoice despite the fact that the IDoc doesn't support them loaded into SAP R/3, or mapping multiple IDoc description fields together to overcome the SAP R/3’s internal data limitations.

5. Transform the data in a way that makes sense for you. Part numbers, units of measure and ship to locations are notorious for causing confusion between a customer and supplier when they try to match data in their own systems. You have to ensure that the data loaded and extracted from SAP R/3 is compliant and translated back into a format that makes sense for both you and your trading partner.
