1 EDI Source recently developed an automated EDI solution that helped client SodaStream successfully convert more than 31,000 orders to EDI data and turn around the same day for the multichannel retailer, HSN.
SodaStream is the world's largest manufacturer, distributor and marketer of Home Carbonation Systems. The SodaStream system enables consumers to carbonate water and to flavor carbonated beverages at home as an alternative to purchasing pre-packed bottles or cans making it convenient, environmentally friendly and cost efficient. Every year SodaStream provides 600 million liters of carbonated beverage to millions of households, making it one of the largest beverage companies in the world.
SodaStream was spotlighted as a “Today’s Special” by multichannel retailer, HSN. As a result, the company expected to receive a high volume of orders in a short period of time. After the special promotion, SodaStream had 31,000 orders to covert to EDI data. The company could not even imagine trying to convert this many orders to EDI data the same day.
SodaStream turned to us for a custom, automated EDI solution. Our relationship with SodaStream started in 2010. As a user of our managed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) EDI Model, the company can enjoy the benefits of powerful EDI/HQ™ EDI software without the worry of installing and supporting the application in-house. Our managed SaaS EDI software solution offers a lower total cost of ownership: no big upfront investment, no ongoing costs (or headaches) of managing IT resources and security.
We offer a complete, turnkey programs managed by a team of EDI specialists. The team helps clients, like SodaStream, meet trading partner requirements without the burden of continually creating applications to map EDI data to a new set of standards. This solution also helps clients meet EDI requirements without the security risk of opening holes in their firewalls.
“1 EDI Source designed an automated solution to help us accommodate the expected high volume of orders from HSN,” said George Bowley, US IT director at SodaStream. “The solution was implemented quickly which saved us a lot of headaches caused by manually entering the data.”
According to SodaStream, 1 EDI Source’s EDI solution also has allowed the company to: (1) deliver retailer orders faster; (2) improve the consistency of deliveries; (3) offer more flexibility in shipping orders and (4) automate its entire sales/order process.
