  • Version

    Definition:
Identifies the publication of the standard being used for the generation or the interpretation of data in the ASC X12 standard format. Each release represents a snapshot in time of a standards database that evolves continuously. This snapshot contains all the changes to the standards approved through a certain date. This includes new standards approved since the previous release or sub-release. Different releases and sub-releases are not necessarily compatible. Transaction sets, segments, and data elements must generally all be used at the same version/release level. For example, the data element 373 (Date) in version 004010 is expressed as CCYYMMDD, with a fixed length of 8 digits, whereas in version 003040, it is expressed as YYMMDD having a fixed length of 6 digits
  • VICS
